St. Louis Blues Betting Notes

When Boston’s Jake DeBrusk took a penalty just one minute and two seconds into Game 3, the energy in St. Louis was electrifying as Blues fans clamored for an early goal. That goal didn’t come as St. Louis’ woes on the power play continued.

And from there, it was all downhill for the Blues, who allowed three goals in the last 10 minutes of the first period and went on to lose the game 7-2. Jordan Binnington was pulled after allowing five goals on 19 shots.

St. Louis has been excellent at bouncing back from losses in recent months. The Blues are 10-2 in their last 12 games after a loss per the OddsShark NHL Database.

Boston Bruins Betting Notes

Tuukka Rask helped the Bruins to survive the initial offensive onslaught from the Blues, and the team’s power play did the rest. Boston went a perfect 4-for-4 on the power play to improve to 6-for-14 (42.9%) on the series, and in holding the Blues to a 1-for-5 night on the power play are now 9-for-10 (90%) on the penalty kill.

The Bruins are now 9-1 over their last 10 games and have outscored their opponents 41 to 16 over that stretch.

Bruins at Blues Betting Total

Monday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals at online betting sites. The OVER is 7-3 in the last 10 games that St. Louis has hosted Boston.

As ugly as the score was in Game 3, it only counts as one loss for the Blues. Their effort in Game 2 proved that they can hang in this series. But going up against a team as good as Boston, St. Louis will need to shore up their special teams if they hope to win this series.
