Tiger Woods is one of four favorites at sportsbooks on the odds to win this year’s PGA Championship in Farmingdale, New York this week.
Tiger Woods snapped an 11-year major title drought when he won the Masters last month. Now healthy and back on top of his game, Woods will try to outlast the field once again and earn a 16th major title at the PGA Championship.
Woods is going off at +1100 on the odds to win the PGA Championship in New York at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Tiger has been playing a light schedule this season to maintain his health, but his last two appearances have both been sharp as he finished tied for fifth in the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play event and then won the Masters with a sensational 13-under-par performance. A healthy Woods makes every major tournament a lot more interesting.
There is very little separating the top four golfers on the board at sports betting sites in this event with Woods at +1100, Rory McIlroy at +1100 and both Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson going off at +1000 each.
Koepka finished tied for second at the Masters and still appears to be in strong form after finishing in fourth place at the AT&T Byron Nelson tournament over the weekend. The 29-year-old has won three major tournaments over the last two years and is the defending champion in this event, which was previously played in mid-August.
Dustin Johnson has landed in the Top 10 in six of his first 10 tournaments this season. Those finishes include a win at the WGC Mexico Championship, a tied-for-fifth finish at THE PLAYERS Championship and a tied-for-second finish at the Masters. Johnson has come close to breaking through since his US Open win in 2016, but is still looking for his second career major title.
Rory McIlroy has had an even longer major drought, last winning a major in this event back in 2014. McIlroy did win THE PLAYERS Championship this year though, which is one of his five top five finishes over his last nine tournament appearances. After a poor showing in the Masters, McIlroy could bounce back with a big performance in this one.
Other potential contenders on the golf odds to win the PGA Championship include Jon Rahm (+2000), Justin Rose (+2000), Rickie Fowler (+2000), Jason Day (+2200), Francesco Molinari (+2800), Tommy Fleetwood (+2800), and Xander Schauffele (+2800). Day earned a victory in the PGA Championship in 2015.
