The Golden State Warriors look to take another step towards securing the top seed in the West as they hit the hardwood as double-digit betting favorites on Thursday.

The Golden State Warriors are 6-2 straight up and 5-3 against the spread over their last eight games. The Warriors will try to keep things rolling on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.

Golden State is a 13-point road favorite on the NBA odds in Los Angeles at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. While the Warriors have won nine of their last 10 games against the Lakers, the two teams have split those 10 games at 5-5 ATS each.

Golden State Warriors Notes

With first place in the Western Conference essentially on the line on Tuesday, the Warriors cruised to a 116-102 victory over the Denver Nuggets as 8.5-point favorites at home. Four of Golden State’s last five games come against teams that have already been eliminated from the playoffs, so the Warriors not locking up the top seed would take a pretty big meltdown at this point.

On the season, Golden State is 25-13 SU and 18-20 ATS on the road.

Los Angeles Lakers Notes

LeBron James has been shut down for the rest of the regular season to let his groin heel. James joins Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart on the shelf down the stretch, and Tyson Chandler and Kyle Kuzma may not be far behind as both are listed as questionable for Thursday’s game.

Los Angeles has actually put together a nice stretch of games over its last six to go 4-2 SU and 5-1 ATS after going just 1-10 SU and ATS over its previous 11 games, but with all four of its remaining games against playoff teams and almost no healthy bodies left, it’s hard to imagine this success continuing.

Warriors at Lakers Betting Total

Thursday night’s total is set at 227 points at sports betting sites. The UNDER is 6-2 in Los Angeles’s last eight games per the OddsShark NBA Database.

The Warriors occasionally play down to the level of their opponent and 13 points is a lot of points to lay on the road. But with Golden State still looking to lock up first place and the Lakers lineup looking so depleted, even a mediocre effort from the Warriors should be plenty in this one.
