Takes some stones!
Texas Tech and Virginia tip off at 9:20 p.m. ET on Monday, and while plenty of bettors will have a financial interest, one Red Raiders backer will be paying particularly close attention. Back in November at the Westgate SuperBook, an anonymous bettor placed a $1,500 wager on Texas Tech at 200-to-1 odds. If they beat Virginia on Monday, the bettor will take home $300,000.
As Texas Tech has advanced through the 2019 NCAA tournament, buzz has grown around the wager. There is a website called Prop Swap that allows people to hedge their bets and try and cash in early on wagers. The bettor had been trying to sell the ticket, but has yet to find the right price. He even turned down $50,000 from former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant!

Prop Swap told the Philadelphia Inquirer that the bettor indicated he would not accept less than $200,000 for the ticket. Given that his highest offer was $57,500, odds seems slim he’ll get a six figure offer on game day.
That being said, he has already profited from Texas Tech. The bettor placed an $800 wager on Texas Tech at 125-1 odds at the William Hill Race and Sportsbook at The Plaza in downtown Las Vegas, per ESPN. He sold that ticket for $20,250 on Saturday.
Virginia is favored over Texas Tech, with moneyline odds installed anywhere from -115 to -124, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.
This bettor placed several three- and four-figure futures bets early in the season, according to multiple reports. When you’re putting down that kind of money, you might have a stronger stomach to pass on $57,500. What would be your asking price for a $1,500 ticket that has advanced this far and pays off $300,000?
