The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs are co-favorites to win Super Bowl 54 in Miami on the early betting futures at the sportsbooks.
The New England Patriots went 14-5 straight up and 12-7 against the spread en route to the sixth Super Bowl championship of the Bill Belichick and Tom Brady era. Belichick and Brady will be back at it again in 2019 looking to add yet another ring to their incredible legacy.
New England is a +700 co-favorite to win Super Bowl LIV at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Tom Brady will be another year older at 42 this season. The Patriots lost offensive lineman Trent Brown and pass rusher Trey Flowers to free agency and future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski to retirement. Despite these red flags, is there anyone left in the football world that doesn’t expect New England to figure it out and to be a major contender when next January rolls around?
The Kansas City Chiefs are also going off at +700 to win the Super Bowl. After their impressive battle with New England in the AFC Championship Game, most would argue that the Chiefs were the second best team in football last season. League MVP Patrick Mahomes will be under center looking to build on a sensational season in which he threw for 5,097 yards and 50 passing touchdowns.
Last year’s NFC Championship Game competitors are the next two teams on the board with the New Orleans Saints going off at +900 at online betting sites and the Los Angeles Rams right behind them at +1000 to win the Super Bowl. New Orleans should have a chip on their shoulder after suffering a disappointing end to last season’s 14-4 SU and 9-8-2 ATS campaign. Los Angeles has plenty of questions to answer this season after Todd Gurley’s late season disappearance and Jared Goff’s awful Super Bowl performance.
Other potential contenders on the Super Bowl odds this season include the Cleveland Browns (+1200), Chicago Bears (+1400), Philadelphia Eagles (+1400), Indianapolis Colts (+1600), Los Angeles Chargers (+1600), Green Bay Packers (+1800) and Dallas Cowboys (+2000). After showing plenty of promise with a 5-2 SU and ATS run to end the regular season and then putting together a remarkable offseason with the acquisitions of Odell Beckham Jr., Kareem Hunt, Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson, Cleveland has skyrocketed up the betting board as this year’s most popular bet to win the Super Bowl.
