McIlroy set as the betting favorite on 2019 Masters odds board

Rory McIlroy is the clear betting favorite at sportsbooks over Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose heading into this week’s Masters Tournament at Augusta.

Rory McIlroy shot 16-under-par to secure a victory in The PLAYERS Championship last month. The 29-year-old will look to complete his career grand slam by winning the one grand slam tournament that has eluded him this weekend in the Masters Tournament.

McIlroy is a +700 favorite on the Masters odds at Augusta at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Through his first seven tournaments in 2019, McIlroy has finished no worse than ninth place. He has five top five finishes including his win at The PLAYERS and a runner-up finish in the WGC Mexico Championship. Bettors often have to wonder what form McIlroy will be in as he can be hit or miss over a long season; this year, he’s been in top form every trip out, and that makes him a favorite in any field.

Dustin Johnson is the next man at sports betting sites at +1000 to win the Masters. Johnson is having a strong season in his own right with six top ten finishes in his last eight tournaments including a fifth place finish at The PLAYERS and a win at the WGC Mexico Championships. The 34-year-old is still looking for a second career major championship since winning his first at the U.S. Open back in 2016.

Not far behind Johnson is a batch of contenders that include Justin Rose (+1200), Tiger Woods (+1400), Jon Rahm (+1800), Jordan Spieth (+2200), Justin Thomas (+1800) and Rickie Fowler (+1800).

Woods is a four-time winner at Augusta with his last Masters Tournament win coming back in 2005. Tiger has been stuck on 14 majors since 2008 and is hoping that this is the year that he breaks the slump. Last season, Woods won the TOUR Championship, but so far this season he has only two finishes inside the top ten.

Rounding out the top contenders on the golf odds for Augusta are Francesco Molinari (+2500), Brooks Koepka (+2500), Paul Casey (+2500), Tommy Fleetwood (+2500) and Jason Day (+2800). Koepka has been on a tear since 2017 winning three of the last seven major championships with back-to-back victories at the U.S. Open and a win at last year’s PGA Championship.
