Tigers vs. Cavaliers OddsShark Matchup Report

Virginia Cavaliers Notes

The Cavaliers won their first three games of the NCAA Tournament with their signature defense, holding opponents to just 52 points per game over that stretch. But when pushed to the limit against an impressive Purdue offense, Virginia rose to the occasion to score 80 points en route to an 80-75 overtime victory.

Kyle Guy led the team with 25 points and 10 rebounds in the win while Ty Jerome continued his impressive run in the tournament with 24 points to bring his scoring average over the last four games to 15.5 points per game.

In their last 17 games as a favorite of six points or less, the Cavaliers are 16-1 SU and 15-2 ATS per the OddsShark College Basketball Database.

Auburn Tigers Notes

Auburn got beaten in both of its regular season bouts against Kentucky, most recently losing to the Wildcats by a score of 80-53 on the road. With one of their best players lost for the rest of the postseason with a torn ACL in Chuma Okeke, prospects were not promising heading into an Elite Eight matchup against Kentucky as 4.5-point underdogs.

The Tigers prevailed however, winning the game 77-71 in overtime to improve to 12-0 SU over their last 12 games and 8-2 ATS over their last 10. Auburn is 4-0 SU and ATS in its last four games as a betting underdog.

Tigers vs. Cavaliers Betting Total

Saturday night’s total is set at 131 points on the March Madness odds. The OVER is 5-0 in Auburn’s last five games.

If the Tigers have shown us anything this postseason it’s that they can’t be ruled out of any matchup. Cracking the best defense in the nation won’t be easy, especially with Okeke out, but Auburn won’t go down without a fight. Both of these teams are coming off of overtime thrillers and another good one should be in store on Saturday.
